3 large onions, thinly sliced (about 8 cups)

3 cups College Inn® Beef Broth or College Inn® Chicken Broth


  1. Combine onions and 1/2 cup broth in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until all broth has evaporated and onions begin to brown.

  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, adding broth in 1/2 cup increments when broth has evaporated, until onions are tender and become dark golden brown, about 45 minutes.

  3. Serve caramelized onions with a variety of your favorite foods such as: 

    • Top burgers, pizza, grilled steak, crostini with blue cheese and walnuts, casseroles and sautéed vegetables 
    • Stir into mashed potatoes, soups, pasta dishes, guacamole, mac and cheese and scrambled eggs 
    • Add inside quesadillas, Panini, wraps and more
